Vidya Balan is definitely talented. But my all-time favourite female protagonist in hindi cinema continues to be Smita Patil even 2 decades after her death.

Vidya is compensating for the void created by the gorgeously talented Tabu doing very few films nowadays!
Though Vidya acted well, Dirty pictures movie is cheap. It made fun of a real person's life and grossly distorted the truths. Silk Smitha was nothing like portrayed in the film. They did not even talk to Smitha's mentor or her family members before making movie, so what kind of research they have done. The whole movie was totally in bad taste.

vidya does not deserve this award this will only encourage more of dirty pictures in future & the actress will shed clothes & this in turn will be that females on road will get abusing comments very bad choice of actress to get this award for this movie

grow up.. in other countries all types of movies are made..unlike india.. doesn't mean public will suffer.. u mean if no movies are made everything will be fine in society..? indian audience like u needs to grow up

Yes, true..Vidya, has just it cheap and easy way to publicity. There are some misplaced people with confused oulook to modernism that like to see differently. The fact is, in this new era, what we need is entertainment, not cheap stripping...to make a career...
Coming to Silk. there is no comparision..the former was a natural beauty, who was so innocent..while this one is so manipulative and no where near, when it comes to sensuality...

She was better than Priyanka Chopra for Fashion in 2009. In that year there were better movies in different languages than Fashion. I agree, off late, the juries are more obessed with fashion, cinema and all, and they do not want real portrays of Shyam Benegal or Satyajit Ray of those years.
