I don't know JA, except that he is a movie star and a body builder.
However, I recall reading about the case in question in the newspapers.
JA did hit the two cyclists, BUT FOR NO FAULT OF HIS OWN. In fact, he himself fell down and sustained injuries, but first rushed these two worthies to medical aid and then got his own treatment. The two great cyclists also accpeted that it is their fault.
Applying the Mahatmaian principle of the dirt poor being divine and the rich being guilty till proven otheriwse to traffic rules results in "The Weaker Person is always right" law of India. Hence JA was booked.
In India's most hallowed traditions (of shitti** on the roads):
1) The pedestrian does not give a rodent's posterior to step onto the the road out of the blue from the footpath. Well he IS dirt poor enough to qualify for divinity. Pedestrian cuts off a cyclist at the shoulder of the road.
2) Cyclist swerves right. Poor fellow, can't break, has to pedal to pick up his momentum again.
3) MOtorcycle zooming down on Cyclists' right now executes a MI - II manouvre, to avoid applying brakes and cuts into the opposite side on coming traffic.
4) Car on bikes' right side, already a little on the wrong side, now does a Tokyo Drift move.
When one of these guys miscalculates, someone gets his 15 minutes of fame / 2 inch space on a newspaper.

Please read "Poor fellow, can't break" = "Poor fellow, can't brake"

Accident is an accident.Simply because the victims are on wrong side it does not give any waiver in Indian law.punishment may be little less.He should go to jail.

That's the pleasure of driving in a 3rd world country. In a civilized country, the persons breaking the rule are punished.
I tried Indian bullshit walking style in China, and my friends informed me that I might end up spending the night in a nice Chinese prison for Jaywalking.
I was wondering what dumbos the Germans are to not cross the street when the Pedestrian Sign was red, till a car passed my by at a slow speed of around 80 KMPH (I suspect, I usually don't carry radar speed detectors when walking on the streets of foreign countries), on a street in the middle of Frankfurt!
The only city where traffic feels close (not exactly like) India, is London. Everybody driving slowly, as if half asleep, pedestrians crossing the moment there are no cars on the street, regardless of whether the Pedestrian signal says stop or walk. We're a complete fit for each other.

The Brits and Indians.
Two countries whose main occupation is extolling the virtues of a great past, where the Chinas & Germanys of this world are becoming real super powers.
Even the US is better than us and the Brits, in terms of discipline and law and order I mean.

In Kuwait if a Padestrians /injuresdies when he crosses road(other than Zebra Crossing)car driver is not at fault..
Why this gentle man took 6 years to settle this case. He should have spend 15 days than and there only and would have been living tension free post than, as of now. Or they think judiciary of this country cannot act against them just because they are some so called celbrity..

You f$o$o$l, do you know the case? The guys who he hit were driving wrong side on a one-way street.
