Puerile piece
by Rajkamal Goswami on Jun 25, 2012 05:12 PM

Seems more like a personal outburst of a person who worshipped Z and hates Dibakar. The critique against the movie per se is unsubstantial and irrelevant. It is naive to expect a sole narrative of dissent and corruption, as the movie is, to encompass the vastness and diversity that exist in reality out there. And there are no real heroes of messiahs in the movie. Its the closest that a film noir has ever come to terms with post modern realities of India while keeping the tension afloat. Its' a commendable piece of cinema notwithstanding the views of an insecure leftist about the political relevance of Indian cinema and the politics of the film-maker.

Mr Mihir, at least Bannerjee had the guts and idea to make this movie. Did you?
What have you contributed in terms of highlighting the systems constant loot of the city and common man?
Were you out on the streets yesterday when a handful of common folk protested the Mumbai police recent high handed ways?

Mr. Space Ghost? movies was not good.
There are several movies which tell stories about corruption, and politics in much better way than this. It was very slow and dull, and very boring, when i went in theatre after two days of movie release only 15 to 20 people in were their in theatre to watch it. There are lot serials and tv programme which depicts corruption and politics much better than this movie.

Are u not missing target audience?

I was not aware that Rediff is an elitist English PhD students website.

Whatever Shanghai may or may not be, such complex are the statements here that this article requires an English PhD holder.

Only other category of people who can read it are lawyers who are accustomed to read such stuff.

why do everybody jump the gun when they find one or two new words in a piece? Even I learnt a couple of words & otherwise I do not think it is a PHD level piece (what is that anyways?)

Just google out the meaning... it will improve ur vocab only...
