This subject is controversial. Sikkim is a small State with very less population & Organic farming is possible. But where population is very high it may not be possible. 1 Kg of Urea provides 460g of Nitrogen, butChicken droppings provide 1.5 gm per kg. A Switzerland based Co had interest in Nigeria and this local co was also interested in Agriculture. It installed a Sprinkler System for irrigation designed by yours truelly and supplied by an Indian Co. The crop was very good. The day harvesting was to take place the pest attack completely destroyed the crop as no pest control was used. Chemicals are always bad surprised to hear from Mr Shrof that DDT is not harmful. Will he give 1 tbsp each of DDT to his grandchildren everyday for next 6 months under the supervision of a Govt. medical team? He did not speak like a scientist, afterall he earns by manufacturing pestcides. At the same time his brother is growing cotton by organic method. We are getting organic vegetables at a much higher price and quality is not good at all. Mr Amir Khan should continue to bring new subjects for national interest.
