1. Put a lot of songs and dance, a teenage/college love story. 2. Something very sleazy like selling sperm etc. 3. Show a lot of ugly violence and gang war. It started with Satya, These are the three successful formulae. Oh yes there is one more, giving hope to young unemployed boys, Amir Khan's favourite.
Anurag is one of the most talented filmmakers we have...he always wants to give new stories and offer something new to his audience...I am really looking forward to Gangs of Waseeypur..If he manages to pull this one off..he is a great director...almost 2nd best to Raju Hirani.

well said...he is truly very talented and a maverick! But he belives in giving quality and something new to his audience..thats most what i like about his aspect of film making...he has not gone bonkers like RGV
He is over hyped by our media.He is just another film maker who is showing all the negative things on the name of showing reality.Film makers like anurag kashyap do not understand the mindset of a common indian.The common man is already surrounded by so many negative things,problems & circumstances which are very horrible.The elite society don't know our problems and they start praising the film maker for showing the so called reality.One example is a third class film named slumdog millionare which was praised by west.Our choice of entertainment is reflected in our food habits.We want a complete THALI in food which contains roti,rice chatni,sweet & salaad.Just like this we want a good complete film.This doesn't mean that we do not like experimental cinema or real cinema but there is a diffrence between 'REAL' & 'INTENTIONALLY MADE TO LOOK LIKE REAL'.Paan singh Tomar is real but this Gangs of wasseypur is looking unreal as its characters are intentionally made to look more BRUTAL than they actually were.GOW is actually a bihari version of 'RAKTHCHARITRA'.Dear anurag,you are giving nothing new by making bundle movies like Dev D,GOW or yellow boot.Can you really show me a single person in real world who matches with your characters.Films like GOW will only encourage brutality & negativity...Pls try to reflect that remaining 1% positivity.GOW can never ever do what a film like MUNNA BHAI,LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI,RANG DE BASANTI,TAARE ZAMEEN PAR,MUMBAI MERI JAAN,A WEDNE

Gangs of Wasseypur has received standing ovation at Cannes film festival..Obviously the people watching it are not fools like you...they r educated ppl who understand cinema.

I am going to watch it dude...and its not 5 hours...the first part is of 2 hours and 40 min....at the end credits of the movie..the trailer of 2nd part is going to be shown and its going to release in 2-3 months from now.
Bollywood now-a-days is glorifying the UP Bihar culture. Earlier it was the punjabi culture which was highlighted. IT is said that UP/Bihar culture is more of gang war and fights and womanisation.
This is one guy who has talent and he is not the type of guy who just becoz the producers demand wud put up a item song. Maan we are proud to have such a director in India. Hopefully he'll bring oscars to India one day...
