Each Indian State has its literature and culture and so has Bengal . It's culture or arts are not superior to any other region of India

Dibakar is one of the most promising director in India
by MeraBharatMahan on Jun 06, 2012 10:43 PM  | Hide replies

This chap is one of the Most Promising Dir in India movies...Unfortunately Indians are still far away from being a Matured and Cultred audience..Western countries are far educated than Indians on cultural front...Otherewise how can movies like Rowdy Rathod,Dabang etc can be a hit...Most bakwas of all...May be it is too demanding to understand quality of work froma audience whose majority are just larking around poverty line....

MeraBharatMahan, that divide to some extent parallels the urban rural divide. So there will always be so called "crass" movies that are mass hits, and the so called "cultured" movies which will always have a niche audience.
Of course, increasingly, folks are figuring out that you can make good movies which are also entertainers. That is an encouraging sign.

While I appreciate your sentiments...
I'd say that I was left disappointed by Shanghai... it started well but towards the end it was too predictable and formulaic...

I have also seen Z which had a greater degree of quirkiness and dealt with a much larger political scenario prevalent in the world in the 60s... Shanghai falls short in comparison...

Re: reason for appriciation...
by Indian Indian on Jun 06, 2012 05:10 PM
people like you will always have narrow minded thoughts....A good director with proven track records made a good film needs to be appreciated....why you find biasness with such cruked way?? Will his appreciation on rediff make the film hit? no one thinks so...The director is good and makes quality movies and not loud popcorn type bakwas hindi movies atleast...learn to understand the technicality of movies and appreciate open mindedly.

by Indian Indian on Jun 06, 2012 03:53 PM

Parting from the regular Indian commercial films and boring lachka,jhatkas..movies like these actually good to see...will be a good pleasure...this Guy's all movies were good infact...may not appeal to mass public but people with some cultural background will enjoy this...
