Scientifically it is proven that when tip of finger touches the food it simulates the bile juice secretion in stomach which helps in digestion.

She must understand why Americans/ Europeans don't eat with hand ? Europe water resources were scarce.Hence they use to bathe once in while and were unclean. To eat they were using spoons as their hands used to be dirty
European when reach America (discovered by Columbus) carried the same legacy there although geographically America was like India in terms of water resources.
Water is best cleaning agent. This is confirmed scentifically and also by Gita. To purify one does aachman with water to clean tongue before chanting Mantras. Thats why Indians wash hands before eating and use water for washing after going to toilet.
I once was having discussion on culture with American lady and she was of opinion that Indians are backward because they still use water instead of tissues in toilet.
I could not stop laughing at her deciding criteria progressiveness.
Basic question I asked back to the lady is it better to smear the dirt coming out of your body on certain part of your body or to wash that dirt off your body. And she was not able to answer back. (Or may be she thought I am not progressive enough to discuss this matter:)
Anyway this shows the lack of basic hygiene in Americans and Europeans.
I never saw them washing hands after eating they wipe them with napkins and them will shake the same hand with you.
who became her sycophant where shew as here, in media, like barkha and in films like AB, need to tell why they were licking her when she was here so hard.

I know how the Americans themselves eat! Clumsily! First, they hold the fork in the left hand and the knife in the right hand to cut a piece of the food. Then they abandon the knife altogether, switch the fork from left to right hand and then eat the piece of food just cut with the fork in right hand. They keep on switching from right to left and from left to right until all the food is finished or is transferred from the plate to the table.
