I dont see anything about Rajesh Khanna whereby he got entangled in a shameful act like a hidden financial scam or an affair which merely gathers smoke around without getting proved though. Is it not his greatness? The only problem he could not tackle was that he could not maintain the thin line of his face which people liked so much. Otherwise he would have been an unbeaten hero. Amitabh was merely a replacement of superhero who had fallen just because he could not maintain his biggest asset the cute face.

then why did RK didn't survive or bounce back... after his fall, he still lived for another 35-40 years..
Every coin has two sides. Depends on which side you have seen or want to see. There is third side of the coin too but that side is known by that coin itself. Others generally dont care.

He was a real good actor and super star... but we have to accept facts like he never cared about his team-members (actors, technicians, etc.,)
RK marrying a girl of 16 years when he was 31 is real blot on his character...
Aamir takes too much time to understand his character. Remember Aamir whenever had more films at hand did overacting in films and had flops in 90-99. so he does one film a year. Khanna how could he give 95 box office hits and ensure quality of work he did inspite of working in 3 filsm a year minimmum? Khanna just did not give 15 consecutive solo hits but also gave 73 Golden Jub hits and 22 silver jub hits. Khanna is superior to even bachchan as Khanna didnot resort to one grne of masal films. Khanna's work does the talking. Khanna has films of every genre and got the best music cause of attention he paid to get the best music.Khanna could understand the script faster and get into skin of the character very quickly thats the reason he could reach 153 films by 1991 and had 106 solo lead hero films. Others like Amitabh and others in 70s 80s did multi star masala formula films but Khanna stood out. Inspite of him being highest paid actor from 1970-89, he has films of every genre in his hands. His filmography eplains that each year atleast min 2 films have him as a lead hero releases from 1967-1991. Khanna did not play safe and played just one kind of role or one kind of type of films. Though called as romatic icon - can Avishkaar, Babu, Aaj Ka MLA Ram avtaar, Redrose, Chakravyuha etc be called Romanctic movies?SRK keeps doin romantic roles, Big b did angry man roles.Khanna never repeated same story or same role.

Don't think AB did only angry young man role.... he has great timing in himourous situations as well. And did multiple roles of different characters in the same movies several times.

RK and AB...no debates. Both are iconic. Love them both. Ajay devgans, Khans, Akshay Kumar are all Pseudo actors. Aamir Khan is an exception though.
This author is trying to defame Khanna. Just consider the logic - Khanna despite being the highest paid actor was appraoched by producers again and again thats the reason he has 106 solo hero films and only 22 muti star films.He holds record for max films as solo lead hero author backed roles.Producers never shied away. Plus each producer and director has repeated Khanna in 3 films minimmum.His filmography from 1966-1991 proves a lot. He has min 2 films releasing every year from 1969-1991. He has 95 box office hits and got the best music because he used to sit for music sessions.Thats possible only when you are liked by all and respected for your acting skills.RK was very humble and infact generous. Poeple have taken bunglows, cars from him and inudustry people have praised him for being so humble - Khayyam, Raza Murad, Amitabh etc in interviews.Also Amitabh just did angry young man films. Khanna's fimography shows he has done wide varity of films of many genres and achieved success. Romance was just an element in Khanna's films but each film of his was of different genre.Avatar was remade as Baghbhan, Anokha Rishta remade as Lamhe,Nishabd and Sachca Jhuta as Don. Go and See Redrose, Aaj Ka M.L.A Ram Avatr, Babu, Tyaag, Amardeep, Awaaz, Bawarchi etc-- were they romantic films ? they were each of different genres. Fine about his views on Amitabh, but its minimum courtesy to acknowledge once presence/wish... RK was not right in this matter. Should appreciate Jaya for replying RK in sensible way.. and her words literally turned to curse for him.

The only superstars India has seen...RK, AB, Dr Rajkumar and RajniKanth. Rest all are just stars or pseudo super-stars
True Rajesh Khanna is not perfect arrogant ,narcissistic.But we all loved him because he charmed us .His solo perfermonces (minus heroins)mesmerised us we are still in trance .No regrets He passed away It happens to every body .What we remember him was his superb screen presence in those 4 years.His hold has vanished but the charm still has exhilirating Not necessary to compare with Mr Bachan or Rajanikants who are enduring superstars .Though breifly he has hipnotised us turned on his charm which still lingers
There is nothing wrong in what Rajesh Khanna did; particularly with Amitabh Bacchan.
Rajesh really cared for Jaya Bhadhuri; he sincerely believed at that time given the kind of appearance of Amitabh and the only kind that get going in Bollywood he thought Amitabh cant make it.
ONly those who dont care for people keep quiet even when they know that the person is moving around with somebody who cant make it.
But Rajesh stuck his neck out for the sake of Jaya which many dont by playing safe.
Hasnt the whole world at that time said that Amitabh cant make it? Then why are we not talking about all those but single out only Rajesh Khanna.
Rajesh didnt have any ill will towards Amitabh; he sincerely thought Amitabh cant make it. But like all others' his judgment too went wrong.
Who in the world has taken all the right decision all the while? Only those who never took a decision.
Regarding how treated others even has a reason. We are all told how he mistreated them; but no body tells us how those people mistreated him when he was nothing but a talented guy. No one tells us how he was treated when his first three films bombed at box office.
Rajesh came up in talent competition; he didnt go to directors and producers with a certficate from Prime Minister Indira Gandhi like Amitabh did.
He had no friends; so what? All those who wanted to be friendly with him came to him after his success but not before.

Its not about who is dead or alive, its about facts. He was supposed to be arrogant, so he lost everything too early. AB is of the same age, still referred to as a SUPERSTAR !! If Arrogance & indiscipline ruled for 5 years, Good character is still ruling after 35 years. !!!

Get ur facts right Mr.K. Amitabh Bachchan came to Bombay from Kolkatta in search of role as an actor. Infact he too participated in the contest that Rajesh Khanna did. AB proves that looks are not important, Discipline, Good mannerisms, Humbleness, etc is more important.

Your first part is okay, but to say Amitabh went with Indira's letter is too bogus. What a load of false information. No letter can make you star, it is the public, and Rajesh is the first superstart of the country, everyone acknowledges it, but Amitabh has ruled the movie industry like no other before or after.

It was Rajesh Khanna's fault that he could not maintain his thin face line. Day by day his face lost the charm. Amir Khan maintained his cute face you see. Had Rajecsh Khanna maintained his cute face it would have been history. Amitabh was going to happen. But, Rajesh would not have finished by him, if Rajesh had maintained his cute face. They would have been the great competitors.

THEN HE WAS COULD BE CORRECT AS U SAID... BUT FEW YEARS HENCE EVERYBODY IS OF THE OPINION THAT RK WENT BLATANTLY WRONG IN HIS ADVICE TO JAYA, AND SHOULD HAVE MAINTAINED BALANCE BEING A SUPERSTAR THEN.
Guess he would have never had to face to face Jaya after 1975.
