they censored the parts where Naseerudun shah was there, his role is for abt 15 mins, u can find that clip on youtube.
As my subject suggests, there's no arguing on that point. But my endearing memory of him will always be the Tirchi Topiwala in oye! oye!, a serious actor slipping so easily into a mad caper role, versatility, here it is.
NasseruddinShah is one of the greatest actors (in its real sense). I believe his best performances came in Masoom and Wednesday....... Wish you a belated happy birthday Sir. Some of the greatest actors/actresses of Indian Cinema are ShabanaAzmi, SmithaPatil and NasseruddinShah. They deserve more praise because they did justice to their skills.
They were more of "actors/actresses" than the "entertainers" (sometimesjokers)......
While I really can not question anyone's taste and likings but that an article on actor like Naseer got only 50 comments goes on to show how much undervalued true artists are. How sad that in the this profession of pomp and show, in the name of providing entertainment, true artistry gets sidelined. Do I need to compare him to SRK, Salman, Akshay, AB etc to get some response ? Well actually I should not, True Actors can not be compared with jumping circusmen. He and Smita Patil are the main force behind giving Indian cinema many a meaningful movies in the days when movies where just relegated to dancing around the tree and dhishum dhishum. He was the artist in the 'Art Movies' of 1970/1980s from which modern day Anurag, Dipakar, motwane etc learn from. His dialogue delivery is un-matchable, Pankaj Kapur, KK Menon comes close. Although unfortunately he has had to take lot of commercial movies and forgo other more meaning projects, We are fortunate to have an actor like him among us. Happy Birthday to Naseer.
In the age of video cassettes, I used to have many cassettes including Masoom. I must have seen the film countless number of times. I never got tired of seeing that film. As an educated modern family living in a city, the conflict and struggles of the family to accept an illegal child were real and heart-rending. The final scene has a twist no one has expected; it is a tribute to an educated Indian mom to save her family from disintegration. It also shows her mother's instincts, who is suffering for no fault of his own.

Masoom was way way ahead of its time. Very few movies could actually tap the fragility of human relationships like Masoom did.
These days the movies that are based on human relationships are more sleazy and dark instead.
I HAVE BEEN SEEING NASIR MOVIES SINCE MASOOM DAYS..THERE WERE SOME EXCELLENT PERFORMANCES..BUT WEDNESDAY IS THE MOVIE WHICH HAS SHOOK EVERY BODY.HE ACTED WELL AS COMMON MAN.THANKS TO THE DIRECTOR WHO EXPLOITED ME 100%
