Rajesh Khanna achieved everything in life. Just a final unfulfilled dream and wish was to see Sachin Tendulkar retire. His wish remain unfulfilled wish when Tendulkar announced that he don't see retirement in the near future which broke kaka's heart so he stopped taking solid food. Indeed Tendu is great

Rajesh Khanna died of Liver infection, cos he was a drunker after his fall from super hero. He gained fame money in ease. But as human being he only thought for himself. As professional he was an actor, presenting himself as hero, but in real life was he a hero. After his fall from year 1971 he could have directed his life helping the poor kids, starting hostels for needy wherein he could have been happy internally , he featured himself in film as good person. At least help his village people. I bet after being a superhero, he bought bungalow and stayed isolated in ego, keeping his relatives away.

Agree with you,
He was a great actor, but made lot of unwise decisions to make his 2nd half of life miserable.

Seems to had been over-confident of his numero-uno position, inspite of changing trends from Romantic to Action & comedy movies after 1973. He failed to adjust himself.

He marrying a girl of 16 years at the age of 31 pinches, and she shose to stay away from him after few years of marriage.

In summary his life was summary of 2 extremes, could not balance himself

Anything to do needs to be done with passion and with heart...we cannot say that he did not help poor being rich....if he fakes doing help for poor, its not called help....every individual is different. Given a chance we ourselves would have behaved so weirdly in his position.

he was real superstar
by Sameer Shaikh on Jul 19, 2012 10:35 PM  | Hide replies

The fan following and hysteria was really out of imagination. I was not born that time but stories heard from elders, articles written on him described his larger than life persona. Last 2 days I cried because in my city during his peak he visited for a single shoot and when people came to know they slept near the shooting spot for 2 days occupying to see khanna glimpse. People came with clothes, bed, brush and that public que stretched till 2 kms from the shooting scene. Even Rajnikanth fan following in madras is not even 10% to what people witnessed. Girls shouting and crying their heart out. This was beyond description and these young generation people cannot even imagine the sight. Once he got sick at a famous hospital in mumbai so producers book the entire 2 floor to see as their waiting period to meet him was a year. He was much bigger than hindu muslim or religion. his movies had clean message which was indian culture. Really you will be missed. Had dimple stayed with him, he wouldn't have died due to excessive drinking

Then Dimple would have died. Pls don't give personal assessment about there family situations. All these happened inside there house . So, we cannot conclude who was right and who was wrong. Let's stay only on Rajesh Khanna.

Is it true?
by siva kumar on Jul 19, 2012 08:13 PM  | Hide replies

It is bad to discuss the shortcomings of a dead person.
Just out of curiosity I want to confirm from old timers whether it was true that success went to Mr.Khanna's head and he ill behaved with many when he was at peak.
Knowledgeable persons can throw some light.

Big B and Rajesh
by Raj Kumar on Jul 19, 2012 07:33 PM  | Hide replies

Both are products of the tumultuous 70's when cinema was undergoing a seismic shift everywhere. Big B had the image to latch on to something that was bigger - action. Having said that, Rajesh was more original and the Big B phenom was sculpted carefully by Salim Javed with a liberal dose of copying successful characters in Hollywood and in rare instances from the South.

No other actor could have pulled off the success in a variety of roles like Rajesh (especially, Haathi Mere Saathi). Surely, Kishore Da had his flair to support both Rajesh and Big B. Although, I can only imagine Rajesh singing "Mehfil mein kaise kenh de kisi se, dil bandh raha hai ek ajnabi se" (and not Big B). Rajesh had the multi-dimentional versatility, while Big B capitalized mainly on the action flicks. No comparison - One had to have lived in the Rajesh era to know the difference - which is still evident today. RIP Kaka... Between you and Kishore Da, there will never be another, ever!!! Thanks for the memories!

Till Sachin is fit, he would play...age does'nt matter for talent. Without him in cricket, its like without Amitabh in cinemas.
