many ppl here thinking AB played a great role even better than RK forget that it is easy to play serious intense role but to play the role that RK did is very difficult.
Think about why Anand is the most loved dearest character in hindi film industry. Yes, no one else could play it the way RK did.
Also I think RK's best film was with Waheeda Rehman in Khamoshi. That film is the only indian film remade in 5 or 6 different countries including america

RK is definitely underrated as an actor. People writing about his mannerisms forget his stupendous performaces that got him many national awards and over a dozen nominations. If we think AB is the "Mahanayak" of the century, just remember that in the 2 movies they acted together RK came out better overall.
Rajesh khanna got very fast success between 1969 to 1973 he gave 15 hits in a row which is still a bollywood record which no one can break.But in 1973 Namak Haraam, Big B already shown Rajesh Khanna that a Actor is born and after 1975 Hit Zanjeer, Angry Young Man, Amitabh Bachchan was born after that rest

evaluation differs with age. When you compare Rajesh with Salman that itself prove your age and mind set.
You are comparing Moyra Dynasty with Nehru Dynasty.
In those day i all way see his movies,it time there is a deferencese in his act,the way he shack his head the way he move his body and hand leg are to be remained in one memories.The way his romantic life is to learn from today young stars instread of fighting let us love to live.
not for RK,I have always felt Anand is best for AB, its pretty easy for anybody to act like RK role in Anand, but AB role is too tough and gives energy to the film just like a bass player does to a song

Really, you talk as if playing a role like Rajesh Khanna in Anand is child's play. Look, I don't want to compare Amitabh and Rajesh, both were legends in their own rights, but Rajesh did do the better job in Anand. If you want to post these sorts of comments, why don't you try for five minutes to act convincing like Rajesh Khanna?

my friend, remember one thing in life, it is easy to play serious intense role, but very difficult to play a charmer in last stages of his life. THink about how you will play it?

playing a charmer is different from playing a comedy role, which u guyz are mistaking, not demeaning RK, in fact me too am a fan of RK....but RK's character is emotional, it will make love RK's character because the character is dying, but AB gives strength, contrast to the character to RK, which is a pillar to the movie...anyways, theres saying, i cannot make u understand unless u want to understand. :)

the way RK played it he completely overshadowed AB intensity and gave us the most loved character in hindi cinema history.
