no need to read reviews for bollywood movies
by venky on Jul 13, 2012 01:11 PM  | Hide replies

its simple to guess, the trailer will be great, they will go to some foreign country to shoot, they will try to act like hollywood stars (which is irritating), they will wear good makeup and dress... finally there will not be any story to offer for the viewers...i don't understand one thing why these north, east, west guys from india have low creativity??

Agreed! But you need to include the south too. They dont have any creativity either. Look at the south based movies and also the melodramatic serials which is boring and irritating to say the least.

Boss, I was talking about movies only. No one would deny Rahman is a grt and his music is legendary and i am a big admirer of his. I can give you umpteen names in hindi film industry too who are gifted. Shankar Mahadevan, shreya ghoshal, sadhna sargam, sonu nigam, hariharan. Tell me why is it that these guys are singing in tamil films too when there are singers in tamil film industry? Yes, I know chitra, srinivas, SPB are grt too, but to say good hindi film music lacks creativity is not correct at all.

A.R. Rehman got an Oscar for a film directed by a Britisher!! Not for music in a Indian film. Anyways many B-town movies are inspired by movies from South.

I am not in favour of bringing regionalism into movies. A good movie is a good movie irrespective of language. But after you brought up the "creativity" aspect I went and checked past history ...Bengali films have been nominated for the best feature films for national awards a whopping 22 times compared to 11 each for Hindi and Malayalam and 2 for Tamil. You can check up the facts. But does that mean that only Bengali films show creativity ? not true because national awards are not the end all of excellence..there are lots of brilliant films made in many languages ..so please desist from bringing up this "north, west, east" has no creativity.

Indians have an inferiority complex. They need an Oscar from Americans to feel good about their own great talents. For eg. A.R. Rehman is great because he got an Oscar. It doesn't matter that the music for which he received an Oscar was one of his worst compositions.

there will good and bad in any industry even in hollywood ....what im trying to say is where is the creativity??..if you look at tamil movies there will be many good ones released in a year..if they are not better why are tamil actors getting national awards and even they have won a oscar award too...the main problem in bollywood movies is they forget what they have at home..

There are good Hindi movies too, such as `3 idiots' which was remade as Nanban. Look at Lagaan. There are ample of them. Yes i agree many of the Hindi movies lack any story, but tamil movies aren't grt either.

Yes i know it was written by chetan bgahat, but boss, ultimately it was made in hindi, wasn't it. You might have a good story, but still you need to make an interesting one. I remember an interview with Shankar who said that he was so anamoured by the movie and the acting that he decided to make a movie in tamil. Have you seen lagaan? It is a beautiful movie.

That was blatant criticism but I guess you grew up feeding on good cinema. I like your review. I always blamed our producers for the majority of bad films that India produces each year. There is mostly zero originality in our scripts. But I have realized our public laps up anything that is offered... For them the story do not seem to go beyond good looking actors (if you can call them that), glossy places and some catchy songs and dance. Sad but true.

Why do talented film makers end up doing these kinda narrations. The 1st half picks up very well but then starts the usual Hindi movie Emotional stuff. As Raja Sen mentioned, there is no explanation why Randeep always has a Bandage on his face and when he is Diana, Its All GONE! Deepika's character in the 2nd half goes haywire! The Ending has so much to do with Love Aaj Kal!! Its like watching a PART 2 but with too much unwanted situations. Deepika meeting with the accident, Saif has his uncle staying in London but prefers to sleep on some street Benches! Whoa...SAIF - This is for you, if you think you thought of making some quick bucks out of this movie (Coz' you already lost in the Amazing Travel "Agent Vinod") Then forget it! Probably only the opening can save you some POUNDS...

I find a great similarity between Raja Sen and Sukanya Verma. they have this Oxfordish English that normal Juntaa cant understand. And Btw, the name Raja Sen is a pen name. Not sure if Sukanya is also the same. The writer, then, would be definitely be the same guy.
