Good story, nice performance by all. The character Pappan was awesome. Experienced some fresh comedies.Kunchako Boban did very well in a negative role. Thanks to Laljose for such a good movie.
raxces, having had innumerable waves of inward migrations and invasions over the millennia.
It is no wonder then that there are raxcially distinct features for most north Indians as there are for north west Indians, north-east Indians, south Indians, etc. Even within these sections, there are sub-sections with distinct features.
Now, aping westerners in general and aping western cinema and show business in particular are favourite enterprises or pasttimes for many literate Indians.
The north-west Indian aping the westerner in his cinema is always stark and jarring, for raxcial distinctions dont submit easily to aping.
The malayali aping the westerner in cinema is even more jarring, for the malayali has raxcial features that are more distant to those of the westerner than those of his north west Indian counterpart.
But the cake ought to surely go to the tamilian cinema actors who seek to ape westerners ! So comic are the effects indeed because the chasm in raxcial features between the tamilian and the typcial white westerner is the widest !!!

would not call you a racist...but your constant obsession with the topic of race is absolutely amazing as it has been the only subject you have ever written about on rediff boards! you man are crazy and what are you really trying to explain to yourself for so many years?

Isn't the fact that some Indians refer to other Indians as raxcially 'inferior' so comic considering that almost all Indians consider white skin and white features as 'superior' and worthy of aping ??
And is this fact not comic because try whatever he or she can, no Indian can ever remotely approach the westerner in looks, speech, mannerisms, etc. (years of toil and sweat notwithstanding) ??
And is this fact not comic because those who labour so hard to ape the whites appear never to remember that their toil is entirely fruitless ??
In short, is not the fact that one dark skinned Indian (belonging to the so called 'upper castes') making fun of another dark skinned Indian (belonging to the alleged 'lower castes') perhaps the most comic aspect of Indian society ??

very well writen Mr Piri ..the issue is not outside the system..the system itself is the issue...

But this raxcial contrast gets the starkest and comes through with comic effect when one raxce labours hard to ape another in appearance, speech, mannerisms, gestures, expressions...... besides aping the utmost in creative arts, social mores, values........!!!
Dilip is the true embodiment of the typical Indian ape. And he must be in seventh heaven, having got the services of an anonymous western wayfarer in cinema to act with him !!

Malayali labours' lowest position will be running a tea shop or a bakery because a Keralite's education and ego doesnt allow him to stoop further down that. But pandis who lack in education and basic quality of living are ready to even clean public sewers for 100 bucks. Kerala has acute shortage of low level employees coz malayalis wont work in that category. So we have to bring pandis from pandi nadu. And the pandis spend their free time robbing rich malayalis houses. Pathetic!

Please Don't be ignorant, there were many actors who were so called 'Fatty' yet were best at what they did. Marlon Brando, John Belushi, jack nicholson, John Belushi, John Candy, John Goodman, James Earl Jones, Chris Farley, Our Very Own Prithiraj kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Sanjeev Kumar Etc Etc.... Please understand that Acting or being a Hero has nothing to do with one's Physical Apperance, It's all about Talent....
