It is the Muslim and then indian kongress made a global hero and then a victim.
I believe no religion is so weak that any writings or any writer or any speaker can shake it, bend it and even threat it's survival or existence.
If Satanic Verses of Rushidie can taints Islam follower thousands of muslims across the world, Mr Rushidie should be trated as global Hero.Muslims followed by Iran's then leader Ayatulla Khumini who ordered Fatua of Death penulty to Rushidie for his satanic verses had virtuall made Rushidie a simple writer to a giant Author / critics/ hero of the world limelight.
Indian kongress took an opportunity to peace indian muslim and to bag huge their Votes to the Kongress. Inteligent indian muslims know it is a game drama to attract muslim votes. They used Rushidie as scapegoat for political game.
The Islamic world and hundreds of crore of muslim had shown intolerance to any speach, acts against the islam faith. they feel their religious base is not strong enough to with stand any such writings like the Satanic verses. They perhaps feel the Satanic verses is strong enough to tilt the 14hundreds yr old religion. Muslim clerics feel they will lose the hold/ control over thousands of milions of muslims if satanic verses is allowed to be read, and they may even leave the faith islam' Now is the Satanic verses strong enough to damage the foundation of just 14hundred yrs old faith or it's prophet Hajarat Mohammed. Time will say who is hero ?

Religious nutjobs have no better work
by Tarun Kumar on Jan 24, 2012 09:07 AM

These little groups of offended cry babies are always going to exist in society and are going to try and drag the rest of us back in time, with their silly beliefs and all. Ultimately it is the "threat of violence" that we have caved into (and we al know which community that is coming from). We should grow up and progress as a society and try to not get threatened by these people/groups. We should send out a clear message to them that if they want to curb freedom in our society, we will NOT let that happen. Let them go live in some other backward society where religious fanatics are given authority. I am ashamed of being Indian today, because of these people who have surrendered to these threats.

people usually say thar rush-die only wrote againest Islam in satanic verses so many of the non-muslims feel sorry for rush-die as he was banned but actually rush-die has spared no one in his book. he has abused everyone inluding Rama and Sita. if that is a shock for some of you then please refer that chapter in satanic verses, if i copy paste it here I am sure moderator will delete my post...

Bollywood celebs have got it wrong. Everyone should be sensitive about their own religion and about other's religions. Somethings are sacred and should not be tampered. Salman Rushdie does not understand the basics of freedom.

then go to court, who are you say he shouldn't enter the country. MF Hussain also hurt some sentiments and he didn't enter mainly because of fear of getting arrested in those cases. Only law can dictate terms, not some imams or bishops or swamis.
