Feluda Itself Was Cheap Imitation of Sherlock Holmes!
by Ramachandran on Apr 15, 2015 05:59 PM

And how can we accuse Sandip for not doing well with a cheap imitation!

While Feluda stories might have brought home the bacon for Satyajit Ray and Bengalis may love Feluda, but Byomkesh Bakshi was far more original and better than Feluda. For those with a good knowledge about Sherlock Holmes, most of the stories in Feluda series are only laughable for the obvious ways they ape the works of Arthur Conan Doyle.

Rubbish article

I dont agree one little bit with the writer. The Feluda detractors in this page are trying to steal the spotlight on them by targeting a great thing. They are failing in the process.

Not even a smell of competition
by Madhumangal Das on Jan 16, 2012 11:42 AM  | Hide replies

Satyajit Ray was a master. His son is just a director. Yes, in a branch of bad and worst directors, he is looking little good. And Feluda? Is there any scope of competition at all? Sabyasachi with Soumitra, or Bivu with Santosh Dutta? Sorry, can't even imagine. A film has its repeat value. I see Sonar Kella or Jay Baba Felunath, whenever those come in TV. But I can't see three schenes continuously of Bombaiyer Bombete or Gorosthane Sabdhan in TV. After baise srabon, may be Srijit can make a good thriller. Sandip Ray, please spare us.

That is because you are not a fan of Feluda and have never read the stories. You only know Feluda by name and watch them purposelessly just to enter into comparison game. Sandip Ray is a great director above and beyond 95% directors in India any day. Distractors like you and this jealous reviewer Sumit can't change the fact that Royal Bengal Rahasya as well as Gorosthane Sabdhan are blockbuster hit films. Your views hardly matters to anyone of those who have watched and enjoyed these films. Adios.

Totally rubbish viewpoint of Sumit Bhattacharya
by Amlan Chatterjee on Jan 15, 2012 09:22 PM

I am so very tired and sick of some armchair experts like this fake intellectual Mr. Sumit Bhattacharya who constantly compres senior Ray's work with his son's work.I have seen Royal Bengal Rahasya four times and have felt each time that this has been a jewel and a soothing wasis in the midst of a very thirsty desert where there are so many garbage movies that do the rounds. I am utterly disgusted on Mr. Sumit Bhattacharya . People should have an open mind while watching or reviewing Feluda films.Era has changed, since senior Ray has died. Generations, mindsets, culture, pace, people have changed drastically since the time when Sonar Kella and Joy Baba Felunath were made.Three decades have passed since then.Viewers who expect to see modern Feluda films to have the same treatment as Sonar Kella are living in fool`s paradise.Sandip ray is doing just a fine job.I believe those old films and these new films cannot be compared from any angle what so ever.If it is indeed compared forcibly, then why not compare Harano Sur with Baba Keno Chakar or Swami keno Asami? i believe those who pretend to be too linked with senior Ray's films donot need to watch the new films and annoy those who like these films.
