I find one thing very striking whenever I hear to hindi music from the 50's to 80's is that they all sound similar. there is not much difference in the background music and the tune are all the same. the northie musicians cant come anywhere near to illayaraja and rahman. even harris jayaraj ia a better composer than the copy-cat hindi wallas.

When someone says that SD and RD or Nayyar saheb, or Nausad saheb provided similar music..either rest of followers in billions from India to entire South Asia, from Middle east to USSR, and from China to East Asia( In China or East Asia, they know only India songs of that era, and recently JaiHo due to Oscar) all were/are deaf..Or is that Im with ignorants.. There will be many IllyRaja or Rehman will come but let me see how many people tunning Rehman or Illyraja music in their daily routine and how many those names i ve mentioned above..forget abt 100 years down the line.. Todays music is like todays box office..they will make f00l..run max one week or first weekend ..collect their return..after then they will d00m..but still be known as blockbuster.. Anyway, there is no point of discussion with two ignorants..

on any given day Nadeem Sharvan combo will come top 5..and way ahead of A R Rehman..Laxmikant Pyarelal is way ahead of a r rehman. He got one oscar for an avg music infact that song wont come in his own top 10 music chart..

come on surya, nadeem shravan wr gud frm 1989 to 1993, after that they kept repeating themselves in every film wid same composition and music arrangements. also they never went for experiment wid vocals or instruments n remained under shadow of shankar jaikishan n laxmi pyare.
as far as rehman is concerned he himself knws that his oscar winning song is nt even a mediocre song musically. bt this rating is based on the all time work dn by these composers. rehman hs won maximum awards bt it dsnt make him better thn rd, sd, sj or naushad.
laxmi pyare wr gud bt composed in the manner of shankar jaikishan.

Dear friend, after their split, they never work together..then how did u come up with by saying they repeat the same.. I can tell u..their 10yrs in Bollywood was the last golden year for music industry.. And, abt A R Rehman..he came into industry by storm..that lasted few years..last 5 to 6 yrs he is only repeating the same..but getting failure big time.. Tell me how many songs of A R Rehman will be in classics in 10 or 20 years down the line..but Nadeem Sharvan's classics like Aashiqui,Saajan,Sadak,DilHaiKiMantaNahi,HumHainRahiPyaarKe,PhoolAurKaante,RajaHindustani,Deewana,,Dilwale,Rang..and so on...people r tuning these songs today,tomorrow and will be always there..

Dear surya, nadeem shravan deserved award for aashiqui n saajan n they received. bt they didnt deserve for deewana n raja hindustani, actually jatin lalit deserved award these 2 years for jojeetawohisikander n khamoshithemusical, Jatinlalit,ajaydevgn, ramgopalverma , kk n many more didn’t get awards whn they truly deserved. bt as u hv already said that awards dnt prove anyone best.
rehman is the luckiest to get maximum awards even whn he didnt deserve nomination. saathiya is the best example, also rangeela,taal,guru,delhi6 in which he ws awarded whr as others wr better thn him.
nadeem shravan' s music is gud n after come back their music in raaz,kasoorntumseacha kaunhai ws really good bt plz dnt include average rajahindustani in which one song ws copied frm nusrat n remaining wr plain mediocre. There is smthng called versatility n nadeem, shravan’s music lacks that. Aldo rehman hs also disappointed in raavannrockstar.

See during 90 to 95..these 6 years they ve had so many block buster songs..it will be impossible to any composer in today's time to even achieve 20% of their feat. Giving 2 or 3 hit songs in a year is not great.. but giving 20 super hit songs is an achievement..As I said earlier that was the last golden era in music..JatinLalit had given very good music..and few of them are exceptionally well like Rehman.. but long run big no..as I said earlier... Award is one parameter to judge but how u will judge a composer who gives more than 10 super hit songs year after year.... cause they can get one award not 5/6 awards in same year!And their return was HIT as well like Pardesh,Dhadkan,SirfTum, AaAabLautChalein,DilHaiTumhara..nd so on
About Rehman Sir, he came into music industry like a storm..but except 5 or 6 films where he had good music...rest were avg..like his much hype compose for Commonwealth Game..
Today's generation is like T20 match..they want fast pace music..listen 2/3 times.. forget..listen next..thats the reason u wont listen Laxmikant-Pyarelal or Nadeem-shravan music again..and practically we don't deserve it..

Film like Majhdhaar in 1995.. which was bigFLOP.. but listen its song..u will understand how powerful music had given this duo..

And don't compare with LaxmikantPyarelal..their music evergreen..no compare with today's vulgarmusic..which last one week like todays' so called blockbuster movies..and so called superstars..Im a youngGuy..but looking at the music,acting,movies..r not even 20% comparable to old or mid 80s or 90s.
