No comparison in Hollywood & Bollywood actresses. Hollywood actor or actresses gets into the skin of the characters, they take enough time to research about the character before they start working. In Bollywood our actors and actresses, morning they shoot for the action film, afternoon drama/romantic and evening a Masala film. How can they concentrate. They can only imitate the character not they get into the character. It's fact.
17 time oscar nomination does not say anything. It could be, that directors and producers take her as they know that the film will be nominated for Oscars. Today everything is manipulated. Oscar has 0 value.

heh who is delusional.have you ever seen her movies? she gets into the skin of the character and even learns the language and accent.there is no one like her in hollywood let alone in India.
i dont know...every movies i see her..its the same....she just over acts....the same expressions....really..u watch some 3 movies of her together...den u will feel...its all the samee...especially she uses her hand the most..not wonder she didnt get oscar for a long time....now dere r no good actors..so suddenly she has come up....

in that case, put her up in bollywood & she'll be queen. bollywood is full to the brim with such actors n actresses having traits that you've mentioned & yet, who get awards regularly (or who buy them, rather.)

According to me, Streep is the greatest actor of all time.She could simply don any role.She becomes the character that she's playing.No doubt that she's the actor with the highest number of Oscar nominations.

Yuip!!! She does films, ads, televison, anything with equal ease & panache. I remember her having anchored a show called RACE TO SAVE THE PLANET EARTH on tv in the 80's or 90's. Wow!!!
