How could they mention American Beauty under the 'worst movies that won oscars'. The article writer must be a dumb guy without any knowledge of great work. Every human being in his mid life identifies with the character of lester(awesomely played by Kevin spacey for which he got an oscar). coming back at the reservation this article writer has towards the lester a middle aged man obsession/seduction on a school girl is quite common and who doesnt in his life term fall for such fantasies.

Dances with Wolves getting Best Movie and Director for Kevin Costner is real joke considering the Goodfellas and Martin Scorsese is ditched. Oscar is nonsense, half-the-times.
I have only looked at the second slide and am closing this drivel. American Beauty is a modern classic and one of the bets films of our generation. While i love Fight Club and it was very well made and acted, it was at best a smart genre film. It doesn't tell us anything important about modern life does it now?

Totally agree with your view, This article writer is a utter rubbish and need to be replaced with some sensible person who appreciates the quality movie making
