This list looks perfectly fine...Raja did a good job on this one...People who have little taste for good movies will definitely agree to this list (if not biased)....definitely lot of good directors are coming from Bengal...good for Bollywood
Except for English....., all others are plagiarised stories. Even Kahani has been woven around Taking Lives, GOW is blatant copy paste of Godfather,BArfi already known and Shanghai a crude adaptation of the novel with lots of intellectuall pretension.Abhay Deol just knows to keep a straight face- they call it acting(sic!)All directors in the list are all hype, copy. types...except Gauri... she can make a simple tale interesting and watchable.Others are just hollywood copy cats.

have you seen Wake up Sid, Simon Seth? Dont you think the premise of English Vinglish is inspired from there and also lot of similarity with 'Mind your Language' That's the name of the soap...please don't get angry with me

Yep...but apart from Sujoy Sen, none of them are from Bengal. So don't play the parochial card. LOL...no wonder someone called the thackrays bihari.

Jeevan...that tells how lowly person you are...you are so jealous ...learn to accept people better than you or your community
You are one Idiot... Paan Singh Tomar is the best movie of the year and its been brilliantly directed by Tigmanshu..... It should have been nominated for Oscar. But b'coz of corruption and some mindless people in the committe, Barfi got selected...
Re: Where is Tigmanshu Dhulia in this list..?
by kush chatterjee on Dec 29, 2012 08:11 PM
Yep..Paan Singh Tomar should have been in the list though thats definitely not the best film of the year. However, don't think its sane to call you an idiot for saying its the best movie of the year :)

Of course, Pan Singh Tomar is the best film of the year. Everything about it is faultless. Just that it is not about entertainment. It is not about money. It is not about romance. It is about hypocrisy in the society, corruption in the country, fight for dignity and what better than sports to encapsulate it. Should be on any list....
Sadly our culture is made now by bollywood films, kollywood films and regional language films whcih make us a nation of eve-teasers and rapists! what a shame! Shame our women rights activists and human rights activists and intellectuals are acting as cheer leaders of crooked rulers and looters and bollywood actors and actresses for the past 50 years! It is time that rulers study the reasons for harassment, teasing and violence against girls and women and not make knee jerk reactions only!We need to take more aggressive and logical steps to prevent crimes and rape, etc agsinst women and girls and not just knee jerk reactions, folks! All women and girls are not angels and sometimes they are willing accomplices too! Shame that india has not banned Bollywood and useless and poverty-producing Test cricket even now! Just watch the bollywood and kollywood moveis and one can see the heores openly teasing and harassing girls and women and this has been going on for past 50 years and more too! To prevent rapes and sexual exploitation and harassment of women all over india, first and foremsost bollywood and kollywood movies and masala serials in TV channeles, and obscene and provocative advertisements makins girls and women as sexx objects all the time etc MUST be Banned, No other easy solution to prevent rapes and sexual exploitation and harassment of women now, is any one listening???

Will you employ the people from BOllywood/Kollywood etc once they are banned? Don't rant. Ranting will never provide logical solution. It will only make solutions more elusive.

7)Anurag Basu (I kept him 7th as his direction is not the best; but overall the movie was much better than 'Kites' his earlier direction).

Dude...If you have not appreciated Shanghai, your understanding of films is very questionable. You are one of those who have views about everything (like good/bad, like/dilike) with little understanding of anything.

He is there next to Manoj Bajpayee - his friend Anurag managed to convince him to act for a change instead of directing - I believe that he has done a fine job.
