In his 'Oscar list' film, he has relied as much on the supposed glamour quotient of his cast as every commercial film director does. He simply does not have the innate and overwhelmingly powerful skill in using the medium as Ray or Gopalakrishnan had! Satyajit Ray's Appu trilogy, for instance, does not have a single moment in their entire length that looks weaker than the rest!
