Actors may come and go but Dilip stands out. He is greatest actor India has produced. He is undoubtedly a school of acting. Modern people want masala, an item song but is stands only for a day. All the actors have imitated him from Rajendra kumar, manoj kumar, Amitabh bachan to Shah Rukh khan.

The ultimate actor
by Amit on Dec 14, 2012 02:37 PM  | Hide replies

Satyajit Ray called Dilip Kumar "The Ultimate method actor".

Dilip Kumar is the only actor who won 8 filmfare having done only 60 films in his life. He won those filmfares in the era when those awards had some value.

Young generation may not be familiar with Dilip kumar as much as they are probably with Raj kapoor or Dev anand as Dilip kumar opted to restrict himself to acting only.

Perhaps his influence in bollywood is best summed up by Amitabh bacchhan himself when he said, "Indian cinema can be divided into 2 chapters: Before Dilip kumar, and After Dilip kumar".

Good wishes to a living legend

But I won't agree with few people who are saying that Dillip Saab is the best actor in India.

He is one of the fine actor in hindi movies not India.. If you compare in India then many regional actors will come who were/are much talented that their hindi peers.. but the fact is this is national laguange and widely spak in India so that's the reason a utter_flop actor who does not know even ABCD of acting more popular than a very good actor in regional movies.

If some one will ask me my top 10 actors in hindi movie industry, then below is the list :

Amitabh Bachan
Ashok Kumar
Dileep Kumar
Sanjeev Kumar
Balraj Saini
Dev Anand
Pran Saab
Naseerrudhin Shah
Om Puri
Dharmendra(One need to watch his old movies)

I won't able to judge regional movies, cause I ve very limited knowledge on all regional movies. It would be unfair.

Thanks for your useless information. It will be nice of you if you ever check the opinion of the guy (who is on the top of your list) about Dilip Kumar.

You probably need to expand your movie knowledge a bit.
