For a change a nice article by Rediff.. while reading I was going through Hangal Sahab's filmography in IMDB and indeed i lost count of how many of his films I had seen..the list is huge and it includes many blockbusters...I can confidently say that he was a great actor who showed his potential within the limitations of roles occasionally outshining with opportunities like Shaukeen.. The monetary trouble at his last age of life reflects the mind of Bollywood film industry where apart from Big Stars the due (monetary or creative) is never given.. The last statement of the article is even more shocking as Hangal was still a recognized face but what about those non-recognized supporting actors? probably thier news doesn't reach to the media even :(

Rightly said. Well thought out article. As again, like Hangal in his movies, who does his character and getaway, the author has used Hangal (again a character) to explain the film industry, the people and some actors.

audience refucsed to accept him in negative role. he acted as villian ,murder suspense in kali ghata. but audience simple refused to believe he could have done it.!
Its so sad to hear that multi billion dollars Indian film industry can't take care of the people who build it.
But it's upto the industry only and the people in it to create a system which can take care of atleast the basic needs of people devoting their entire lives in making it what it is today and better.
No one and not only the film guys, should die of non availability of food, education, shelter, clothes and medication.
