Par Excellence Stage Actor...
by exoticdesi on Aug 27, 2012 07:37 PM  | Hide replies

It is a shame that even stage artists didn't attend his funeral. Was expecting at least Shyam Benegal and Jaya Bachhan to be there at least. Mr. Hangal and Jaya Bhaduri Played Father-Daughter in so many movies with such a class of reality, that he seemed her real father.
Though people mock his lines from Sholay, "Itna Andhera Kyun Hai Bhai", he essayed the role of blind father who lost his young son with par excellence. He played all his characters so effortlessly. Bimalda, Hrishikish Mukherjee, Basu Chatterjee, Shyam Benegal had recognized his talent and casted him in most of their films.
To me, your contribution to Hindi Cinema is mountainous and nonparallel.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Hangal
Your ardent fan....

Besides his acting, he also found time

to be active with his leftist idealism.

He believed ardently in the leftist idealogy and that justice in the true sense can only be taken or managed, never expected to be received without turmoil!

May his soul rest in peace. He is another fellow human dead and we fell sad- period. Don't try to make him a great actor or wronged person. He at best is a stereo typed fringe actor and there are millions like him.

Actors play out great truths in films .Mr.Hangal has played out a great truth in his death .No money....no friends .Guess people were afraid to come to his funeral as they would be put in a tight spot.

Nobody cares in an industry suffer ing from success syndrome, wherein no thing but success matters.Hence the top flicks where top heroes and heroines mouth big words for small people, look empty and holl owed out.

No big names at the funeral...
by SR Hari on Aug 27, 2012 02:54 PM  | Hide replies

The reason must be that there would not have been coverage by TV channels... In such case, these big names like the Bachans, the Khans and the Kapoors (BKKs) would have made it, making a sober face in front of the cameras.

No wonder Madhur showed all such "artificial grief" in Page-3.

He was in the Industry for so long, most of the today's big names would have worked with him. Still, they didnt feel it necessary to attend to old man's funeral.
