Hit and Run or Poaching. His name was big that's why too much attention was given. Otherwise daily 1000 such incidents happening in India
I actually blame it on Salman & his family who never used media for their own good. Salman was going through a list of flops, a crisis really from 2000-2010 except few meager hits.
Then around 2nd of 2009, after that much publicized fight-argument between SRK & him. Salman & his family made sure that they run his good fun-fare publicity bandwagons. Since then, he's become more popular than ever...
But I think people can still remember the lot of wrong-doing he's done in his life & of course he can't fool his own conscious!
