Sorry Amitabh became superstar for the dialogue delivery in his voice also. He cleverly keep himself de allocated from KK. Like singing in his own voice in Mr Natwarlal which earned him Film Fare nomination along with other stalwarts like KK,MR. In Laawaris "mere angne mein" sidelined aother KK songs. and Gradually Amitabh became one man industry which Rajesh never achieved and went into depression.
music is an important ingredient for any song... each has different style of working... R.D.Burman had rightly choosen Rajesh Khanna because of his style rather story of the film favors combination of both...

moreover, world is too big and we have to choose few ... obviously with whom mental tuning matches unless professionally connected...
music directors and play back singersare always underdogs, particularly coming from Hindu background. No actors/actress gives credit and remembers any music directors and in particular late singers for their achievement and present status. After the departure of Kishore Da, Most of the AB films which had crashed could have survived like Naseeb, if Kishore Da had rendered few songs for him. Even Late Dev Anand could survive in Bollywood not because of his acting or mannerism but because of only Kishore Da. Pancham Da and Kishore Da are inseperable but both had miserable personal life. Kishore Da is an unique versatile singer with superb modulation suiting to the actors voice. Be it Rajesh, Amitab, Vinod, Dev, Rishi, Sashi, Randhir, etc. Kishore Da and Pancahdam Da are Pole Stars of Bollywood cinema.

Naseeb crashed !!!!!!!. It was one of the few movies to cross 1.5 crs per territory and became platinum jubilee hit nation wide
In the Early 70s they gave number of major hits which some of the best music ever made in the industry. Anand was not a RD film but others include Arradhna ( which RD ghost composed for his father SD Burman), Shehzada,Mere, Jeevan Saathi , Mehbooba etc ..
With Amitabh RD had a few hits but was mostly sidelined in favor of.. LP and Bappi..
But it was Kishore Kumars golden voice.. who made both Amitabh and Rajesh Khanna in the superstars they became..

Super Star Rajesh Khanna will be an icon 1000 yrs from now.
With the advent of electronic media none of our videos/films will ever ever die . so even after 1000 years from now it will be possible to google rajesh khanna and see everything like today.
At that time we are sure that Kaka will score over all else from our time because of his values and eternal love that he propagated in his films and his immortal songs..
No one reviews the article and the reporter is as as dumb and ignorant as the article is. Please educate yourself with the facts that Anand was musical hit by Salil Chaudhary not RD. Dont insult the legends. Thanks

Bingo Christopher. That's what struck my mid to when I read those lines. Rediff reminds us of that classic movie - DUMB N DUMBER.
