I find a serious flaw in his statements and that also to an extent reflects his mindset.
He actually mentions as an answer to his last question that one needs to be low on ambition and try for international recognition rather than local acceptance.
If this is not pandering what is ?
A winner is one who makes movies within the local context and is able to package it well enough to get local viewers as much as international viewers.
Mr. Ahluwalia seems to be one among the brigade of film makers that would like to earn off India's poverty and show case it internationally as a objet'd'art
Mr Ahluwalia seem to be an intelligent as well as interesting guy.. hopefully one day he comes to forefront and make good films like Kashyap, bhardwaj & dibakar banerjee is doing nowadays making world class experimental films with A-listers :)

This guy is weird does not want viewers or backers from his own market and does not know if he will get any overseas...well lets hope this does not turn into yet another Slumdog story...

Indians don't watch and encourage movies like MISS LOVELY.The movie has no chance of making money in a country like India where asinine flicks like Housefull,Ghajini, ALL of Salman Khan movies become blockbusters.
