Not to forget mindblowing cinematrography by Binod Pradhan, Beauty of Manisha Koirala and performances from all the actors. It has won total 9 Filmfare awards. only thing is it was a slow movie.

RD is the best factor of this movie, no doubt. In an era when Bollywood was plagued by filthy "Double-Meaning-Slang", RD stuck to his guns & came out with flying colours through this classic album.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra's comments on NanaPatekar in today's newspaper. Whtever has been published, if its true thn VVC is a shamelesscre@ture to say all this for a great actorNana. VVC has made good film like Khamosh,Parina n1942ALS, but these are definitely not classics. Post 1942ALS, all his directorialfilms were a big letdown in every term. Thnx to Hirani who made brilliant films back to back n saved VVC's name. VVC shouldnot have spoken all these things for Nana, bcz VVC himself is not a legendarydirector.

Statement by VVC on NP
It seems that while reminiscing about the good old days, Chopra remarked that while making Parinda, he wanted Nana Patekar to put on weight for the role and advised him to drink milk. "Since he was poor at the time, he couldn't afford it. So, I arranged for milk to be sent at his house and I even paid for the bill," Chopra was quoted to have said at the event.

Even if Nana is psycho in real life, Vidhu should not give above statement, making fun of someone's financial condition. VVC is sick and arrogant.
HMV made crores of rupees by selling R D Burman music (and still they are selling different titles of Panchamda) and when he was in trouble they refused him. This shows nature of bollywood.
