Sar-i-Lamakaan se talab hui’, crooned the Sabri Brothers at their best. Yes, he’s been summoned by the Lamakaan, ‘One with no fixed abode’. And with this comes to an end a glorious chapter in traditional qawwali singing with the passage of Maqbool Ahmed Sabri (1941-2011). The erstwhile surviving of the legendary brothers breathed his last in a South African hospital on September 21. He had gone there for treatment, having abandoned singing three months before due to his failing health. This meant for him having had to leave the passion of his 70-year lifetime, a passion that had begun as early as at age four or five under the supervision of his own father, Inayet Sen Sabri—the middle name Sen kept in deference to their claimed ancestor, Taan Sen, whose singing talent shot to fame at the court of Akbar in 15th century Agra.

Most of the christian nations (european, american even african) these days have changed their primitive ways of burying, but use the crematorium for the same purpose. Islamic nations not only thrive in numbers while living and then occupy all the space on earth after dead? and leaving no space for future generations to live. RIDICULOUS.

Bodies get decomposed in 5 to 7 years. That is how, we use few grave yards for thousands of burials. The burning of body pollutes the environment.

It is indeed better than burning your dear one. Also the burial place occupied by one body can be used for another one just in few years. Kindly check the facts about burying and burning. Sure you will know the bad effects of burning on environment.

Ahsan ! You should check the fact my dear that the body is made of same elements that created this earth and burning it only dissolves back into same elements.

I respect ur comment. But the bodies easily get decomposed in mud and it does not have any adverse effects on the environment. As you yourself mentioned it gets dissolved back. But just by burying it not burning.

My question to you, my friend, is about the space crunch. A dead body occupying a land for 6 to 7 years, according to you, will be used only for dead bodies. But do you think everyone wants to be buried in the same spot? throw some money and get a piece of land? Is there a limit to the usage of land for dead bodies?
Also Burning a dead body does not pollute the environment as much as automobiles do. Burning a body may smell for a few hours, but I am saying bodies must be burnt in a crematorium if the pyre idea is still causing trouble. A UNIVERSAL METHOD OF BURNING EVERYONE IN A CREMATORIUM.

I am 31. Since my childhood i have not seen any new grave yards coming up. Whatever are already existing for 60 to 70 years are sufficient for another 3 to 4 decades. In countries with hot weather the bodies even get decomposed in 1 year,as in SAUDI ARABIA. Every burial spot would be used for hundreds of times. I really appreciate your curiosity and humbleness. Hope I will learn something from you.
