You will not creative ideas from A.C. rooms.

There are two things:
When they enter into the film world, they bring with them new ideas, new stories, and new presentation methods. That gives them fame, wealth and everything. But the fact is their status isolates them from the real world. Thus they miss the good experiences from socializing with the ordinary people.
As a result they are not able to come up with new creative ideas. This is one factor.
Another factor is the changing trend, taste and expectation of the new generation.

it is a question of change in people's taste..any of Manoj Kumar's movies, if seen today, are ridiculous to say the least..

Howlarious - YES! Unimaginable - NO!

While I completely agree that the scene is darn funny, but it is also a fact that people on their deathbed have risen / can rise from ashes like phoenix when they get the right sound waves or music or anything pleasing their HEART. Never underestimate the happiness of a human heart!
