Most of the people writing negatively about Ra One here have either not seen the movie or they do not have kids. This movie is targetted at kids hence they are the final judges.Indian audience is not just the one who goes to multiplexes in metros, the "mass" is still in 80% of the country goig to single theatres and a too sophisticated and intelligent movie would have disineterested them competely. Ra one is simple to understand, many things are done quite convincingly, certain body jokes are also not offending and kids upto 12 years wont under stand them so no problems. Special effects are better than Robot, any body can see that Story wise, there is no comparison between Ra one and Robot, they are totally different. SRK acted brilliantly in both .roles, Kareena is gorgeous, the kid Armaan is cute and nice. Music and choregraphy is great. What else you want in your 150 Rs ticket? Instead of spending 150crores in Ra One , SRK could have made three films in same budget and would have earlned much more money, he did something new, and did quite well.

Tell me how to respond to my 11-year old daughter if she asks me to explain about some inappropriate or embarassing dialog or a joke while watching the movie.

Find out your self!! go and watch the movie before commenting.
If someone is about to make movie with a budget of more than 150 crore (million)Rs., why do they shamelessly copy from Hollywood & other movies? Does SRK and his team thinks, that Hollywood action movies are not being released in India or there aren't any English movie channel's that keep on showing action movies every month?!
With such a huge budget, they could have made a proper film. But they chose to go the easy way (as always) of shamelessly copying the storyplot from other movies.
Like for e.g. the video game developer part and their games getting real is copied from 'Tron' & 'Tron Legacy' movie; then the robot getting negative and hunting others is shamelessly copied from 'Terminator' movie; then the h.a.r.t. plot is also copied from 'Ironman 2' movie; then the running over train scene was copied from 'Robot' and 'Spiderman 2'.
There's is no originality in the film. It’s was hyped in the media that SRK made this movie for his children. The film is full of Vulgarity and Obscene scenes. There is lot of Abusive Language in the film. Even the kid (who looks & keeps a hairstyle like a girl) in the film also (in a scene or two)says highly offending words (Foul)in English language.It seems that SRK purposefully planeed to destroy the culture and the innocent mind of other young people who might see it. This film is a load of trash.
It's a complete waste of time and money. Avoid it.

Ask the review of Matrix, terminator etc... from a person staying in Jhoomri talaiyaa vilage you will get the same response;; whats this all rubbish;
Bollywood movie is not only for metro audiences; they are just 20% for rest of the country there has to be songs, jokes, emotions and love; Considering this it is a very nice attempt to please all kind of audiences

Hi Anand, Do you really know about Jhoomri Talaiya? don't put it in your comments without knowing it....
Surely a disappointment, RaOne is no way close to the expectations and the hype that was created. i would say that even the special effects are preety ordinary...nothing that we have not seen better...ROBOT and KRISH were definitely better with the special effects and the story line as well. Shahrukh's acting is below par...Arjun Rampal has a very limited exposure and scope to create the Ra.One that is talked about! overall a pretty ordinary effort that could have been avoided. Its a 1.5 stars out of 10!!
