Wish we had more of Jagjit Singh

Jagjit Singh has left a legacy in terms of Ghazal singing.

It's an irrepairable loss for the singing industry. It's easy to have good play back singers but not Classical and Ghazal Singers.

Rediff is misguiding u. He took his remuneration but the difference is "he didn't demand some amount of money". If u read carefully, Jagjit Singh said, "U pay whatever I deemed fit."

Anyway, India lost a great singer, and probably life line of Ghazal in India.. RIP

I agree...He was a Great Singer with some unforgettable soulful music but charity was definitely not his forte..
I myself have an anecdote to share...while still at my B-School in Mumbai, we wanted to organise a play "Antwardand" and a ghazal evening in aid of Kargil War Widows, which we eventually did with support of many war veterans and Rotaract Club, NITIE, Mumbai but sans the ghazal evening by JS (cause he asked for Rs. 5 Lacs from us students for the program despite we requesting him to waive off his charges as it was all going to go to War Widows benefit)...but all said, he was a gr8 singer...RIP
