excessive marketing , promotion..high ticket prices in multiplex..ensure that most of these big star movies get good opening and make most money during their 2-3 week life...irrespective of whether audience likes it or not.. there is no repeat audience or 50 days here.. 3 idiots was a movie where people returned on their own to cinemas and genuiinely loved n enojyed the movie.. no hype no promotion.. and that was true collections..

Each movie is different and enjoyed by different sections of the audience. To me 3I was ridiculous. It was crass to say the least making physical jokes on the handicapped and on Brahmins!

unfortunately in today's times.. it has become possible for big stars n banners to make big money with initial run without worrying about audience likes n dislikes.. thanks to multiplex rates , promotion n hype.. they can get away with nonsense yet show big bucks n star status and claim another hit based on ur logic

Rediff is targetting Akshay kumar because he is true hindu why not 10 worst films of Saif Ali Khan, or Shahrukh Khan.
Rowdy Rathore is a remake of the Telugu Superhit Movie Vikramarkudu. I am sure Akshay will not be able to pull off the same charishma as Ravi Teja. A poor movie to remake as its Kannada and Tamil remakes were duds too. Akshay is on the way down...

But in kannada though it was not a block buster. it was a decent hit...its not flop
Ra.One collected Rs 46,29,63,071 in the first 4 weeks whose expenditure is stated to be in the range of 150 crores. The amount above is not even 1/3rd of it.
In the second week, Rockstar has raked in Rs 40,52,70,235.
The Akshay Kumar and John Abraham starrer Desi Boyz collected a Rs. 28.25 crore (all-India net) over its first weekend at the box-office.
