Bhupen Da was so soooft hearted and easily mixed with every people beyond his extra ordinary universally accepted lyrics, evergreen music composing. In the real word, no extra music instrument is required in his songs, the lyrics of the songs itself attract the public. He had a insight eye through which he could see the attrbutes of every object of the world. His expression through poem, lyrics were tremendous, fabulous. He was a real gem of the world.
Unlike Shankardev, Bhupen Hazarika is also great Assamese, an Indian, who shined across the world. Every Indian is proud of him for his creations. But how long we have to wait to get another Bhupen Hazarika (?), as there is no second Shankardev even after 500 years. Dil hoom hoom kare.....
Death is inevitable. But it goes without saying that Dr Bhupen Hazarikas death is an irreparable loss to the Assamese society. The greatness of Dr Hazarika could be gauged from the fact that his music was able to touch a chord with ppl from every social strata,be it the rich or the poor.He was a legend and no less
The loss cannot be fulfilled ever......... We express our deepest condolences. May his soul rest in peace and keeps encouraging his fans to live and let all live in harmony.....................
Bharat Ratna for India's Bhupen da which has been long overdue...he should have got it long back...but it's better late than never even though posthumously...not only because he was a musician...but because of national integration...because he was a symbol of unity for the Indian nation...i am saying this even though i am not an Assamese

Dear Raj, it is not required to be an assamese to tell the truth about him. Just now I spoke to one of my old Air force friend Warrant Officer PP Mishra who is from Bihar and he also had expressed his deep condolences on the demise of Dr. Hazarika. So these talks volumes of Dr. Hazarika . He deserves the best The Bharat Ratna.........
