Customs officials let her go with that undeclared jelellery and in return after going out, Bips has to praise the customs dept. All is fair in customs and actors.
are very happy and relieved to note that Bipashaji has come out unscathed from this astonishingly agonizing experience. A simple case of excess baggage has been reported wrongly by the media. The sagacity and intelligence of Bipashaji is borne out by her kind and considerate statement in praising the customs people for their work..She has taken the unheard of step in co-operating with the local laws of the land..Hail Bipashaji...the next Padma Sri awards would get some credibility if it is conferred on Bipashaji

The customs rule says
If you don't declare any goods under the limit of custom free allowance,it is not an offence. The ustom free allowances are listed on the custom declaration form and if you follow, no problem.
Anyone, please correct this if it is wrong.
If you don't declare goods above customs limit, you have to be first detained, then have to explain and then pay the prescribed custom duty and additional fine.
And all this can not be within Rs 10,000 if what she was carrying was Gold.
So whether Rs 10,000 was tax ( why do you call it tax, is it not the custom duty?) Or something else.
