I really enjoyed watching the movie as it had my favorite actor Nana patekar. Despite being such a versatile actor, he does not get the same level of respect as Amitabh bachchan or that clown Akshay kumar. But who cares, there are still people in India who enjoys his performance and actors who are not over the top. Anyway, well done everyone associated with the movie.
Just watched it after watching the pathetic Ragini mms (on friday) and masterpiece Stanley Ka dabba (both sat & sunday).. I would say Shagird falls in between the barometers..Being a superb director Tigmanshu Dhulai (See Haasil) and an awesome story teller i expected a great story and i wasnt disappointed either just that he could hav edited few sequences which i would say too bollywoodish and the main drawback of the film MOhit Ahlawat.. he is too wooden to act :( But then u have Nana Patekar as usual tremendous, Zakir Hussain as the corrupt minister superb and The Anurag kashyap simple rocked as Bunty Bhaiyya
Did you not feel another shortcoming was that situating this in Delhi was irrelevant? It kept reeking of Mumbai-cop stories in Mumbai throughout. And Nana, while good, is not convincing as a Dilli police waala.
