Kannada movies means which understand the feelings of kannadigas ie orginals.Grt that shivanna after DrRAJ made firm convictions to act in orginals unlike others.There are so many movies of him which are universal and versatile.Probably he is the most sought after actor after annavrru in act in all kinds of movies including so many novel based movies,its realy bad on some folks not to talk for thier selfhishness but facts n figures tell all.
Kannada movies were once the most sort out movies made in India with the likes of Puttana, Dr.Raj, Ponthalu,Chi Udayshankar, MP Shankar, Dwarkish,Babu, Karnad,Kasaravalli,Dr.Vishnu & of course nobody can forget the Nag brothers. Some where in the 90s due to entry of few illeterate directors who lacked education to read novels, tried to copy movies from other laugages to earn name & money. With Uppi, Yograjbhat, Prem, Chaithanya, Harsha as directors definately they will bring back the glory of kannada cinema.
kannada is the oldest language, tamil was there but it was not written, kannada is the only language written after sanskrit(the mother of all languages). and it is one of the easiest language to understand and learn. And regarding the movies, these tamilians,telugites, dont watch other languages movies then how come will they know abt kannada, they think that their films are great enough to watch. And abt actors, lots of actors in AP & TN entered into politics but in kannada there were very little, dr rajkumar, vishnuvardhan,ravichandran, etc didnt entered into politics.

Mr.Subroto Sanyal and folks like you, I am not sure what is your exposure to the origin and history of Karanataka, Kannada literature, Art and Culture, Cinema, Theatre, Tradition, Folklore and Intellectuality, but my suggestion to you all is not speak anything derogative unless u have full sense about what you are talking about. Kannada as a spirit is one of the most treasured among Indian languages. So take care you do not nonsense on a public forum

I am not here to challenge the great ness and achievements of other Indian or South Indian languages anf folks but I can prove you that Kannada and Karnataka in synonym, have had the glorious history and , rich culture, tradiition and people. Kannada cinema has often been a model to other Indian languages in film making, wathch orthy scripts, music and star performances. 100's of kannada movies have been watched by non-kanndigas and appreciated, tons of them have remade in other languages and the story goes on.

Try to read history properly.. Tamil is origin language which is equal to sanskrit.. Also, Kannada = Tamil Telugu. There is no origin of Kannada..
