From the list it seems like college started appearing in Hindi movies or say India only in 21st Century or few colleges came up by 1990s, as 8 off 10 movies are post 2000 release and two are from 1990s.
How one can forget late 70s release all time classic eternal college romance moivie ANKHIYO KE JHAROKHON SE - great music, story, acting, values, social morals - par excellence movie from Rajshri Productions. Also one cannt ignore movies of Farooq Sheikh-Deepti Naval duo in early 80s.
It feels like that rediff or any other websites donot have any memories of pre IT era.

agreed. its all movies of the current decade or so. ppl hv short memories. thats y they recollect latest movies only. 3 idiot being at top! jo jita vo sikandar shud hv been at top.

not from bollywood but Happy Days telgu movie is the best college movie. 3 idiot was a idiot collection of old jokes which we have heard in school days. amir, bomen charecters were so unrealisitic and dramatic.
clerk was that fantastic superhit movie in which 50 year old manoj kumar played a young dashing college student and sang that superhit song "mein ek kilerkkk hooon]
if u havent seen this college movie then your life is a waste!

hahahahahah. Funny . That movie was a yardstick for hamming. I think in this movie Dada muni was cured from his illness by a patriotic song.
