Cars 2 is awesome

Transformers is a flop.

Cars 2 (3D) is awesome. Each frame is almost photo-realistic.

Shaikh Ayaz feels there's more sound in Transformers Dark of the Moon than a sound script. may be he did not get the money from Michael Bay

Cookie-cutter critic review
by Utkarsh Waghmare on Jun 29, 2011 05:28 PM  | Hide replies

This is pretty much what I'd expect from a critic review. The movie quite entertaining, proper summer fare. Loud, noisy and flashy - yes. But that's the whole point.

If you're gonna close your eyes during the hour-long climax then you're leaving the dinner table before the main course arrives. The one hour action sequence IS the movie. If it doesn't appeal to you then it's definitely not a movie meant for you. Yes, it has an audience and they love it.

Watched it last night in a packed theater with an enthusiastic crowd and it is by far one of the most fun theater experiences I had in a long time. The 3D was really well done and there were loads of "wow!" moments in the last hour.

I also don't understand why acting is being scrutinized. Hello? This is TRANSFORMERS! Do you really expect Oscar caliber acting here (although there are a few Oscar favorites in the cast). The focus is clearly on the action and blowing stuff up and the movie delivers on that front.

Overall I recommend this to anyone who knows that some movies are just meant to be taken at face value. They're supposed to be dumb fun, perfect to get away from the worries of life for a couple of hours. Not every movie is supposed to be award-winning material.

Yes the acting has to be of high caliber for any kind of movie.
Other sci-fi movies like x-men first class proves that good acting, story, characters and ACTION can all work together

I agree X-Men: First Class had good acting but only from certain actors. Some of the new mutants and January Jones were as bland as they come. It was a great movie though, by far my favorite movie of the summer.

Movies like X-Men: First Class, The Dark Knight, The Matrix, Aliens etc are some exceptions where you have good acting/plot to go along with the action. But certainly not every action/sci-fi movie needs to have that in order to be enjoyable.

Not gud

Boring movie, lots of talk, talk talk intially, just one good scene where Bumblebee rescues Sam. Rest all same scenes we've seen before. Some nice 3 d effects, especially when the soldiers fly in their glider suits.
Leonard Nimoy is solid as Sentinel Prime and if you are a Star Trek fan theres a superb dialogue in the climax by him.
Problem is that some of the action scenes don't make sense. Bumbleebee escapes jus by luck coz of those two mini autobots. Optimus Prime first loses his jetpack, then somehow gets it back but gets entangled in some cables, again somehow escapes and stuff. Problem is that the climax is so long that u wl get a solid headache in 3D. Also the image is a bit duller in 3D. Maybe they should have done only the action scenes in 3D if that is possible. (I remember long back there was Spy Kids 3 where there used to be a message flashing saying to put on Glasses now)
