The film is a remake of "Kalavani" from Tamil - meaning petty thief and not "Kalaivani" - meaning goddess of studies - Saraswati - What a difference one alphabet makes !!
And btw, the movie is a runaway hit in TN with the film shot in rural Cauvery basin (instead of the usual rural Madurai) - looks like Kannada version shot in Cauvery origin (Mysore - Mandya) ....So thank the Cauvery goddess for the lucky charm and enjoy the light-hearted and feel good movie ...

Prasad, what is your problem if the producers are from Tamil, Telgu, or any other state. You should appreciate anyone ready to invest their money for good cinema than showing your hatred here.

be happy about tamil producers remaking. otherwise, KA directors would have screwed up the original. they dont know even to better remaking. so the TN has to come and teach even to do the remake movies.

Oh! guldu obama, except few, majority of the producers from Tamil are bankrupt. In tamil, majority of the movies will run based on heroes and not on stories. It is evident even today that some theaters in madurai and coimbatore are getting converted to kalyana mantapas.Even malayalees are really becoming backbone of TN industry now a days as well as TV serials.

ok, so!! even malaysia, singapore (where tamil is national language) are backbone for tamil industries. of course, bangalore, kerala are backbone for tamil industries. no dispute on that. hmmm yes, there are theatres converted into kalyana mandapas and also multiplexes are coming up in every cities. movie-lovers want to have options and also would like to have malls associated with it. i agree with you. yes, majority of the producers are bankrupt, let it be. so!!! anyway, whatever, ...my previous point still valid..

Heheheh who said Tamil is the national language of malaysia?.Better have a look on Malaysian currency note clearly(Ringgit)Tamils are being hunted and evacuating in that country.Ethnic Chinese are the backbone to the industries over there.Majority of the high crime rate in malaysia by tamils and majority of them are in detention camps.Sorry to correct u.In singapore Tamil is one of the official languages just to show to the world that they are multiracial.!

Abbe saale, Why do you have to fight against the states/language. This argument has neither end, nor any one of them is great.
Stop this bullshit and concentrate on national/international affairs. If u have guts, discuss on the welfare of our country not fighting like school kids.
Instead of encouarging remakes..watch movie like Bettada jeeva...which is a non commercail art movie which has one national award for best environmental movie...

We Kannadigas know the difference between reel and real life. Unlike other states in India where they see something on the screen and believe that it is the same in real world, no wonder why you see all jokers of cinema in prominent positions such as CM, central minister etc etc. These loafers then get involved in multi-crore scandals and loot India like wild dogs. Still, people continue voting them because of cinema background. Totally mindless people.
In Kannada, we only watch and appreciate good movies and just leave the cinema back in the theater. We will not bring the heros of cinema to real life and let them loot India.

you are right...TN and AP chose leaders from Movie background. In those days, movie was the only medium by which people can reach masses. So Tamil movie has contributed during MGR days on self-confidence, good things etc.. thats the reason, if you compare the average people in TN and average people in KA, the TN common man will have more confidence in life. Thanks to movies influence.
Agreed, KA separates reel and real life. But you have not chosen better leaders, still Gowda, seetharayamya, kumaraswamy (having illegal actress wife), yedyurappa...aiyoo thevure kaap-madappa. KA also do has chosen half-baked but non-filmi people. not IAS officers or technocrats or management gurus... Dramas (ancestor for movies) played a vital role in conveying India' freedom message to common man. you may call tamils as chauvnist. but tamils taught you how to love your own language.

KA not chosen better leaders? We had Kengal Hanumanthaiha,Devraja Urs,Ramakrishna hegde,KH Patil. Gundu Rao etc.But even the present leaders also never loot as you ppl are.!Yea You said u ppl taught us how to love our langauge but why u all are still suffer as beggers and fugitives in many countries? still we don't' have terrorists in our kannadiga History as you have.Atleast u ppl are learning some basic manners and humanity from Rajani.

So you have mentioned about MGR.So MGR is still alive or wandering as a ghost? V are not at all fit for competing for looting with you?You ppl are still electing the mother of looters like amma and no choice at all! That is the fate. There is no uncommon thing in this land as the ppl who are born & brought up with good values as rajani. So taking credit is a default one.

the people u listed, none of them alive. if you can choose leaders from the dead people, every state can list the leaders from dead list. so, no different, whether film or non-film. atleast the adavantege with filmi people, it reaches masses easily. even the current leaders in KA loot, the only difference is, they did not know how to loot to the scale of TN leaders. if given the opportunity they also would have done that. its only incapability and not the other way. if you want to take some credit for Rajini, hmmmm, be happy about it. i dont want to take away your due credit.
