Vinod Khanna had said it in 80's: From 1-10 it is only Amitabh, and only after that any one comes! Shame that even when this man reached 70 of his age, half of his age stars are still trying hard to capture the imagination while he keeps on ruling.

Why only Sholay? Even in his prime days, he worked in remakes. Like Satte Pe Satta was a remake of 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. Salim Javed had stolen many scripts from Hollywood.
Shammi Kapoor, in the film Chinatown, directed by Shakti Samanta. AB's Don was almost a direct lift from that. Watch that film if you can. The song 'baar baar dekho, hazaar baar dekho' was in Chinatown. That said, AB's version was still enjoyable to watch. The SRK one stank!
