Yes Mohebotein, Lagaan , Kuch Kuch Hota Hai & Raja Hindustani were not that kind of special films which can leave their mark in the history of Indian Cinema. They were just the same Boy-Meets-Girl love story based films , but presented in a better way. They were Blok busters , but they were not the path breakers & unique movies of bollywood. Like Amitabhs Agneepath did not do so well in the box office , but it was one of the best movies of Bollywood & the best performance by the legend himself. Similarly Ghayal was one of the beast movies to be remembered for ever.So Lagaan arguably brought the change in Bollywood. Certainly deserves to be put in the league of best movies of Bollywood.

Mohabbatein and K3G are craps? Films meant to be made for entertainment are called craps? These two films are mega blockbusters (esp. K3G). Too headweighted guy, this Satyajit.
If media is ignoring then fans of sunny should divulge the truth about India's most succesful film ever... 1)8 shows were run everyday for a month in punjab for Gadar 2) It played in more than 20 theaters for months in Delhi alone 3 ) With inflation adjusted and in non multiplex age, Gadar still remains as number one grosser of all times.. as per boxofficeindia
4) gadar was produced by IIM guy Nitin Keni. It was officially first ever corporate film of india, All the shootings were done on schedule following corporate culture and pre defined budget.

zero publicity????, i dont agree with you. i remember 10 years back, each minutes there was a trailer of gadar in zee tv and i was getting bored of the trailer and i was cursing zee tv for repeating the trailer. and also as far as biggest hit it is sholay after infation adjusted will be biggest hit and followed by humaapke hai kaun

U R wrong friend.. Gadar is ahead of all these films.. For ur information, the total tickets sold at boxoffice for Gadar stands at 4 crores while Dabangg and 3 Idiots stand at 2.5 crores.. 60% more for gadar Secondly Gadar's 10th week collection of 75 lacs equalled Lagaan's 3rd week collection..
