...The real issue is youngsters who cannot control their drinking and the way they get irresponsible. Seeing so many young people drinking and partying in pubs makes a distressing sight. Seeing many who drink and drive and run down innocent people on streets and maiming or killing entire lives and families is horrific. Seeing girls go out o pubs and drinking merrily while they wreck the confidence and faith their parents repose in them by allowing them to go out is sad too. The way youngsters are allowing peer pressure to drink alchohol thinking they have no choice and the way they are letting this pressure dictate their lives is really bad for the society. Alchohol has send many a people on path of self destruction. People should welcome any moves to restrict this tendency.
someone should explain it to imraan that the issue is not about having to decide when to get into it but it's about inability to get out of it even if you want to......due to the simple fact that it's addictive. the real double standard here is why alcohol , cigarettes ,tobacco etc are not banned while drugs like cocaine and heroine are banned.
we shud ban alcohol. my father left(not dead) us only bcos of the issue of alcohol. So liqour has to ban and not restricting on age limit. there is no use of it. strong action against who sell it and the remedy is complete ban. but it will never happne in india. bcos it is india.

America is no different in weird laws. They have a legal age of 21 years in most states. However when the politicians who create these laws want vote, 18 years is sane enough for them.
