He wanted freedom of expression to insultingly portray hindu gods, did he dare to paint his 'Allah' or other things in his own religion? Did he dare to speak out openly in favour of Salman Rushdie or Taslima Nasreen who also wanted 'Freedom of expresson' and were also artists? He didnt even apologize till the very end of his miserable existance At an age where most of the people would be content being grand father or great grandfather, this man was drooling over Madhuri Dixit!!
what becomes a matter of shame on the part played by the media in this whole circus about hussain's depiction is the complete disregard of the fact that he was abusing the faith, the religion, the God's themselves and the feelings of millions in his zeal to potray such crudeness called his art, which was a total uneducated, immature and callous self-aggrandisement if anything but 'art',but our left-leaning media which is ofcourse always only catering to the sensitivities of the minority community and looking out for their feelings is completely dedicated to bashing anyone that raises their voice against such activities.Hussianwas a specimen of a artsy kind but only if it was abt others religion, not his.
Frankly I do not think he was a great painter? He was good and marketing himself and created lot of hype and drama around himself to sell his paintings
