Just watched this one tonight, just for that old warrior Harrison Ford and the promising young bond lad. Must say, the review is spot on. I mean, the premise was interesting but somehow the characters weren't quite fleshed out.
But all in all, it's a decent enuf one time watch...better than Green Lantern, at least..but then again..i just don't get what Scarlett Johannson saw in that guy....

It is therefore always necessary to take a "second opinion" (or for that matter even a "third opinion").

Wrong expectations
by Ganesh Johnson on Jul 29, 2011 01:27 PM  | Hide replies

Well, it is a known fact in Hollywood that Westerns don't sell. The last one which did halfway decent business was "3:10 to Yuma". So Hollywood does not do Westerns any more.

"Cowboys & Aliens" is a bit of a brave attempt actually, and an interesting concept, but they never wanted to make it a "pure cowboy" movie, so the reviewer is climbing up the wrong tree here.
