Agreed,he's criminal...but there are many criminals in India who r worse than him...He's just another smuggler who used loopholes in our system and corruption to smuggle sandalwood and elephant tusks....The truth is that many middleman have earned a lot by bootlegging than him and are still out in d open waiting for another veerapan to form ....

certainly Sandalwood smuggler Veerappan was much much much better than those white color criminals in the name of politicians who are sucking the hard earned money of the common citizens. Atleast Veerappan never cheated those people who trusted him and Veerappan saved the village people where were tortured by the police force

Veerappan's Chapter is over but why Veerappan survived so long and why was he born is the main Issue. Another veerappan should not be created by Politicians . So this would be necessary .

@ajaychandra: this does not seem to be the glorification of the brigand. it is just an attempt to make good cinema like "Cyanide" and "Aa Dinagalu". Chapters might be over for brigands like him, but we get an insight into how he lived, how he died etc. Referring Wikipedia/Google may not be possible for everyone. Thats why such films r made.

These director's should focus on projecting positive(good people) things to the soceity rather than showing veerappan as the hero. What message doerctor wants to give the audeince. He looted so much, he rap*d so many, he murd*red so many etc.,???????. Should this is necessary?
