anees bazmee is a horrible director
by lousyama on Jul 06, 2011 05:46 PM  | Hide replies

If salman khan can make a movie directed by anees bazmee then I guess he is no less than Rajnikanth.....Anees bazmee in my opinion is one of the most horrible directors....his movies r soooo mediocre and brain dead!

by mandar sathe on Jul 06, 2011 06:58 AM  | Hide replies

Only rediff reports DMD as flop....strange....
Even Thank You had grossed around 50 cr and was average film..... So this rediff list of flop is biased in my view..

purely in cinematic terms!
by Lanky A on Jul 05, 2011 10:45 PM

Forgetting the religious background of the actors for a while, and thinking in cinematic terms, I don't believe that even pretentious arty/message films like tare zameen par, dhobi ghat and peepli live stand anywhere near the kind of cinematic experience a European cinema or even a Korean cinema can offer. Even Kerala film has fallen from grace thanks to the overt influence of Tamil/Telugu dubbed cinema and the changing cinema-goers demography. We really have a long way to go before we can carve a niche for ourselves in world cinema.

Ticket cost should be less
by prashob prem on Jul 05, 2011 10:10 PM  | Hide replies

The problem here is not just the direction & cast the problem is the cost of the tickets. Heard that in North the tickets cost more than 200. I am a movie freak but still i will never go for a movie that cost around 200 instead i will watch it in the net itself.
The good thing the goverment did in Tamil nadu is 120 should be the maximum ticket rate that too only in multiplex that means we have choice either go to the multiplex or single screens. As far I know the PVR in chennai is superb whichever movie is running its falls under decent crowd even though the ticket rate is 120. So its better people in other places need to seriously thingk about ticket cost.
