Real reason
by Legionnaire on Feb 01, 2011 11:23 AM  | Hide replies

One knows 25, 50 or 75 but an award for40 years in Indian cinema! What a joke! This is one of the most stupid category Filmfare has invented.

This is only a moronic attempt by Times of India Group to mend its relations with Amitabh who was extremely upset with this group when Mid Day, a part of TOI group published a rumour of Aishwarya couldn't conceieve because some ailment she suffers. The Bachchan family boycotted last year's Filmfare Award for this reason.

Mid day is owned by Khalid Ansari, who was a famous sports editor with TOI long time back, before he started his publication in the name of inquilab publications. He is no way connected to TOI

Bollywood awards- a farce...
by Sneha Suresh on Feb 01, 2011 04:37 AM  | Hide replies

Can understand the sentiments of Sussanne Roshan in this occasion. Hrithik totally deserved the best actor for Guzaarish. I love Hindi movies and have watched both the movies. I truly felt that Hrithik's performance was mind-blowing as compared to a very good for Shah Ruk.
What really is pathatic in Bollywood awards shows which Shah Ruk attends is that he is given an award irrespective of wheather he deserves it or not. He is undoubtedly a great entertainer but many a time nowhere near the best actor among those nominated. Have also seen a trend in these functions where there are no noticeable film of Shah Ruk's - they make a new catagory just to give him an award. Frankly its plain annoying.
Another joke was Salman winning the best actor at an awards function. The film was an entertainer (if you like these kind of movies), but any actor today in bollywood could have done the role. Definitely not an award winning performance.
Hope the jury members take their responsibilities seriously and do a fair job because its sad when people dont get what they deserve.

Well said

Even at screen awards he got an award for My name is khan - his performance was not at all good.

Overall Filmfare seems to be goverened by Yash raj & Karan Johar like.

How can " Dabang" gets the best Movie Award . Movies Like Once upon time and Udaan are far better and deserves for Best film award. Now I understand Why Actors like Aamir , Naseer and Paresh Rawal not coming in award shows

guzaarish was copied from movies such as
by chaprasi on Jan 31, 2011 11:52 PM  | Hide replies

whose life is it anyway starring richard dreyfuss and sea inside starring javier bardem.

one couldnt help notice lots of similarities between hritik's acting and those of dreyfuss and bardem

also originally guzaarish was supposed to be copy of the prestige and salman khan was supposed to play hugh jackman's role and i think ajay devgn in christian bale's

so i guess the reason why they didnt give award to hritik was he seemed to have copied his role and also movie was a big big flop though many critics praised it skyhigh

now some would say my name is khan had shades of forrest gump maybe it did but it was not a blatant copy of some hollywood movie
