No One Killed Jessica deserves to be the official entry of India in next Oscar.I am speechless after watching the movie.Raj Kumar Gupta who had earlier directed another good movie: “Aamir” convincly captures one of the much talked about murder case convincingly in celluloid frame.
I suggest all to watch this movie at least once. The cinematic portrayal of Jessica Lal’s murder case is seamless and very intense and the movie will bring many questions to your mind about the system we live in and the movie will definitely touch your heart.
Superb acting by all the actors.Congrats to Mr.Gupta for taking up a cause to portray in the celluloid and to all the actors and artists involved in making this movie.I wish sensible movies get sensible business so that our sensible directors like Mr.Gupta can take up more such social issues which affect the daily life of the common man.
Zeeshan had done really well in the role of Manu Sharma, congrats buddy !
NOKJ is a nice film portraying the evils dominated in society. A crime is a crime; it is just the portrayal is different if money is involved. Our social mindset and the rampant illiteracy has benefited the few men with power. Jessica Lal case was an open and shut case; still was dragged for 8 years. Let us think of those ordinary people who may have been subjected to even worser crime; get forgotten may be due to their ill-luck or simply they are not famous enough. Pity..... Let us educate our self; educate others; only then these evils will not grasp our life as it is being done now. Jai Hind.
I am happy that Jessica Lal case was fought by media on behalf of an ordinary citizen that is not connected in the system. But ultimately the question remains. Has this system changed for good? There is not even a trace about it. At least the convict in this case appears to be heading for a punishment, but what is happening in 1000 other cases where the ordinary citizen is not Jessica Lal?
In my opinion, media completely failed because even though they could get a semblance of justice in a handful of cases such as Jessica, Priyadarshini Mattoo, Ruchika Girotra, BMW hit and run, Nithari serial rape and murder and perhaps Arushi (?) case, there appears to be no change in the stubborn system that seems to work only for the networked people. Note that it is often not even about rich being let off, justice in this country depends on how connected you are to the system. Most of the "powerful" accused seem to be connected to either politics or bureaucracy or a community (apparently a certain community rallied behind Rathore, accused in Ruchika case)
And if you notice, from Jessica to Arushi case chronologically, system seems to be getting more lax with each successive case. It seems that system has now adopted to the media flashlight and does not seem to bother delivering justice, even for the purpose of public consumption.
These are extremely worrying signs and future of this country appears very bleak.
