I actually liked KANK, the subject was good - treatment was not. such things do happen and it was a truth but the way it was shown was not very convincing one

Completely agree with you. KANK, in my humble opinion, is among the top 10 best Hindi movies of the decade. I've watched it countless times, and each time it creates strong emotions. It is hard to understand Rani's characterization, but I've seen such characters in real life. Most unhappy marriages dont show a villainous spouse. They both might be good, but just not compatible. The climax of KANK was bit convoluted, long and cliched but no other complaints. Golden lines of Amitabh which I've experienced: "Love and death dont often come announced". Indian movies based on realistic man-woman rel'ship are rare. KANK is one such rare movie. I'm sure it would create bipartisan opinions for the next decade or so. There would be ardent supporters like me, and staunch opponents too. It's all got to do with how we view and experience our rel'ships. Continuing to veil it with culture wouldnt do much good to understanding the complex world of man-woman rel'ships, which is continuously evolving over the past couple of decades.
