Academy juries has done a balancing act by giving away awards to Social Network(3), Inception(3) & King's speech(4) however there are few undeserving candidates who made it to the prestige honor such as Christian Bale instead of Geoffrey Rush, Tom Hooper instead of David Fincher
SRK missing Just one trophy and that is Oscars !!! Like sachin mising World Cup. When will Indian Rock at Oscars ??? At Least 10 Indian Films right from 1960 to 2010 were master piece but None got an Oscars. It is simply that those at Oscars DO NOT understand indian Culture and it's presentations !!. - Dialouge like " Mere pass Maa Hai" !! has No much meaning in Europe and English world.

The day our 3.5 mannerism ham actor srk's PR agency figures out a way to "buy" the oscars or his Godfather Don in karachi manages to threaten the jury, he'd get one. Till such time, lets enjoy the merited ones.

fk u man... so if SRK wins an award he buys... whn others specially bachchans and aamir win they deserve it... what a loser fan of loser actors...
u mean to say that amitabh who can claim to be a farmer for a piece of land is morally so correct that he doesn't buy awards but SRK does...
similarly, the perennial lier and someone who can sue his father is also morally upright... but SRK is not... aamir's case especially in the 90s was a case of sour grapes...

Dude unlike Filmfare or Star screen awards, Oscars are not available for sale, you'll have to be exceptional talented to get this honor

just to add on SRK is not a sole representative of entire bollywood, there are so many other talents(especially new breed of filmmakers) who are doing a exceptional work but are not getting any international recognition. Just to name a few vikramaditya motwane, Anuraag Kashyap and Dibakar Bannerjee, Rajkumar Gupta etc.. are nothing less than Scorsese's or Nolan's

SRK, Aamir Khan, karan johar etc are not oscar material. But due to their powerful lobbying and contacts in film industry, govt etc they try to ensure that their films get sent to the oscar nominations by giving them publicity in news, media etc. There are better Indian films made by unknown actors and small time directors who make much better movies than commercial bollywood crap. But since they do not have the muscle or means of an SRK or Aamir, they cannot give publicity and promote, lobby their films for oscars. Hence the right films are not sent. If you see in the past, crap movies like paheli, rang de basanti and vinod chopra movies were sent to the oscars and they didn't win obviously. unless the bollywood super stars let the good films have a shot at the oscars instead of their crap movies, we don't have a chance. But the SRKs and Aamir are desperate to win an oscar and hog the limelight no matter how bad their movies are. So Indians can forget about winning an oscar unless preference by the govt, film board and media start promoting the geniune films instead of bowing down to a few powerful individuals who control the entire bollywood and film industry
